Hello everybody! It has been a great ride. HIF was one of the best experiences I have ever had. So many things have happened and I did many as well .Well, I will say no more, I like my secrets.

First week of HIF
Though I have no desire to use pictures, maybe description will suffice. I hope. Even though I am unable to post as frequently as I wanted due to the sheer amounts of homework, review, fun activities, and so forth, I will make sure to post, if at all. I will make this short.
I am living with an amazing and fun family here in Hokkaido. A husband and wife team with the most fun and interesting 5 year old daughter you would ever meet. After getting my pocket wifi a few days ago because my new abode does not have wifi connection, things are getting better. The class I am in in HIF is great and I am learning a lot of things. The only thing I have to do is to make sure I sleep enough to not fall sleepy during class time. Due to this week waking up at 7 in the morning and soon enough will have to wake up at 6 in the morning next week, I would have to sleep way ealier than I am accustomed to sleeping back in the states. In all, it is a great experience. Currently I have a headache and feel ill (also red, painful legs). But I am sure I will be better by next week. Well, until next time.

Stuck in an Airport, Oh My!
It is 1:38 pm and stuck in an airport. Due to my initial flight getting delayed, I arrived too late to board my other flight to Tokyo, Japan. So at this moment, I am here in Los Angeles and will remain so until 6:30pm. Arrived at 10:44am but by then I could not enter my flight. So an agent arranged it so that I get to Tokyo but I enter a different airport and time. I will leave around 6:30pm and arrive at Haneda Airport at ~10:30pm the next day. From there I will take a bus or if it is too late, a taxi to Grand Pacific Le Daiba hotel. So far, finding stuff to do until then has been the real challenge. As well as having a headache. Mostly, I have been on my laptop but yeah.
So why not take this opportunity to explain the logistics and so forth.
So after getting my acceptance in February, the rest of the time I have been trying to procure scholarships to fund my trip. I got one which was a huge relief for me to pay off the tuition/airplane ride there. Well not completely but it was a good amount to pay off the airplane ride. In the meantime I have received emails about the tuition payment deadline but I sent a response saying that I needed more time to see if I received the scholarship I was waiting the result on. The HIF office will send updates and other info as the time gets closer to go to Hokkaido. One of them will say that if you are waiting the result of a scholarship, they can extend the deadline. This information would have been better for me if I got it before because I was stressing about noticing the payment deadline while still waiting for my scholarship result. (Either the result came after the deadline or the application was due at a later time than the deadline and so forth). In around mid April I went to wire HIF the tuition money. Interesting day that was. First time wiring money! In terms of airplanes, I purchased the one that left at the recommended day and came back to my home state on the 8th of August, the last day of the program. I probably have more to say but I cannot focus on it at this moment due to my situation. If i recall any more, I will put it in another post.
Well that is all for today, until the next post.

The Day Before the Flight
Hello all, I am not used to using blogs but whatever. Let's start this.
Around mid to late February, I got accepted to participate in HIF (Hokkaido International Foundation)'s Japanese Language and Japanese Culture Program in Hokkaido Japan. Even though I will spend the majority of my time in and around Hakodate, this will be a very worthwhile experience for me. I am happy to do this to the point that I cannot explain it in words and can only express in emotion that I probably will not feel until I land in Tokyo. Even though I will say more about logistics and such in the next post because it is a bit late and I leave to the airport in the early hours of the morning, I will add some here. I will leave tomorrow from Atlanta and then arrive at Los Angeles. After a 46 minute wait, I will board the plane that will take me to Narita International Airport in Tokyo. Afterwards, I am scheduled to stay at the Grand Pacific Le Daiba hotel for a day and with my group (others who will also stay at the same hotel with me), head out to Haneda Airport and then arrive in Hakodate in Hokkaido. So, that is the plan for the next two days. Because of the distance from Atlanta to Tokyo and compounded with the connecting flight time (same airline so it will be easier for me since this is the first time I am both leaving my country and leaving my time zone), I will arrive in Tokyo a day later. So for now until my post, all I can say is that I cannot wait (I definitely can) to experience jet-lag for the first time. Yay.....
